” Be merciful, just as also your Father is merciful.” Lk 6,31-36
Today’s Gospel truly reveals to us the highest form of love – God’s mercy.
In teaching us the main principle of life and behavior, Jesus is also showing us how God loves us.
God loves us and grants us eternal life, not because of our merit.
God blesses us with loving people, all kinds of goodness, and the beauty of nature, which we often fail to appreciate.
God gives us time, resources, talents, and opportunities, which we often waste carelessly.
God, as a merciful Father, patiently awaits our conversion with open arms of forgiveness, even when we have become His enemies.
Beloved in Christ!
Let us be merciful, as our Father is merciful. Amen
